What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week Lillie posts one word for inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word.
I know most folks are pretty busy this time of year, so I understand if you don't get a chance to read this week's post. Still, this one is for the season—and for all the future writers out there!
"What's up with Grandpa?" Cathy asked while pulling the turkey out of the oven. "He usually hates the holidays with all the fuss and having so many relatives around."
"That and getting nothing but those ugly ties and socks every year," Jake said while searching through the cabinets for the meat platter, "but this year he seems almost—dare I say—jolly."
"It was Samantha's gift—you know, Bernie and Sarah's youngest," Grandma piped in. "Her present for him was a story she wrote and he was the hero."
